With 85% of hospitals embracing BYOD,* it’s evident that mobility, and mobility management, are hot topics in the healthcare arena right now. And that’s why these topics were the focus of a webinar about considerations for a robust mobility strategy in which I recently participated.
In the webinar, “Creating a Comprehensive Mobility Strategy in a Changing Healthcare World,” I touched on mobility trends impacting healthcare organizations in 2013, including BYOD and HIPAA, which will continue to be important considerations in the coming years. I also talked a bit about the challenges providers face when implementing a robust mobility strategy, like security and management, as well as the importance of ensuring adequate I.T. support.
Further on, I outlined mobility best practices that any healthcare organization can use in its quest for improved mobility. These include:
- Develop a mobile strategy and policy
- Clearly define and communicate your policy to end users
- Assess your wireless network and overall infrastructure
- Determine a support structure
- Remember that MDM is the foundation
Listen to the webinar and hear additional tips I shared about mobility management.
